A sleepy but enthusiastic group of Region 3 and Region 5 members gathered at the King’s Riding Golf club in King City at 6:30 a.m. on September 6 to conduct an information picket at the 4th Annual Liberal Women’s Caucus Golf Tournament.
Tournament participants were met by picketers who respectfully voiced concerns with the Liberals proposed attack on public service pensions.
Liberal MPP Kathleen Wynne took the time to get out of her vehicle to meet and speak with the members. It is clear that even some Liberal cabinet ministers are still misinformed about the proposed pension changes their own Premier is planning. At any rate, OPSEU’s message of discontent will certainly get back to the Liberal Caucus!
Several firefighters who were registered for the tournament showed their solidarity with OPSEU and chose not to cross our line.
The Executive Board Members from Region 3 and Region 5 would like to thank all of the members who participated in this early morning rally and made the event an success.

please leave our pensions alone
What gives the Government the legal right to steal my money. There is a real misconception by the general public that this money is some kind of extra reward. The Liberals are exploiting this misinformation hoping the public will remain outraged at the union. This is money taken from my pay to put towards a decent pension.
Very, very nice page!
